About HealthGate HealthGate has been a pioneer in the healthcare market since 1994, bringing cutting edge technologies, products and services to more than 700 hospitals, health systems, and health-related academic societies nationwide. Today, HealthGate is the only enterprise content management (ECM) vendor specializing exclusively in the healthcare market -- helping healthcare organizations manage all-consuming -- and often overwhelming -- collaboration efforts – streamlining the process of creating, updating and reviewing documents such as policies and procedures, protocols, guidelines, and order sets to name a few. HealthGate’s healthcare-specific collaboration technology allows hospitals, institutions and associations to affordably and efficiently manage and complement the in-person collaboration process by bringing committees and diverse groups to a “virtual” table through a web-based, user-friendly interface. For more than 12 years, HealthGate has been listening to the needs of healthcare institutions, providers, executives, technologists, and understands the complex dynamics, cost restrictions, multi-disciplinary and multi-geographical staff, and culture of tradition. HealthGate’s domain expertise in the healthcare arena makes it uniquely qualified to understand and tailor collaboration tools specifically for healthcare organizations. HealthGate History In the mid- to late-90s, HealthGate was the go-to provider of web site content for hospitals and healthcare organizations, with one of the largest and most respected repositories of collected and original peer-reviewed healthcare content. Throughout consolidation in the content market, HealthGate strategically moved into the clinical space, developing guidelines and promoting evidence-based medicine through product lines and acquisitions; this line of business was sold in 2005. With this rich foundation in technology, consumer-marketing and understanding of clinical workflow and documentation, HealthGate has once again anticipated healthcare industry trends and needs. For the past two years, the company has taken its broadened expertise in new technologies and services to focus specifically on desperately-needed collaboration tools for the healthcare market. HealthGate Leadership HealthGate’s leadership team includes CEO Bill Reece, who has been an expert in healthcare information and delivery for more than 20 years and Chief Medical Officer Timothy McNamara, MD, and Chief Medical Officer, who brings more than 25 years of expertise in healthcare informatics and technology, and also retains his role as as an Assistant Adjunct Professor and Medical Director for the Center for Healthcare Informatics at the University of Kansas Medical Center leading a variety of educational and informatics-related initiatives in the School of Medicine.
